9 . SHAYLA FINALLY EXPOSES WHAT ANTHONY DID BEHIND D’NISHA’S BACK! 💥 D’NISHA LOSES HER COOL AND SLAPS SHAYLA
The tension inside the cramped apartment had been building for weeks, but the air felt especially thin the night Anthony decided to host a dinner party. D’Nisha was in the kitchen, carefully setting out plates and trying to act like the recent distance between her and Anthony was just stress from work. Anthony was leaning against the counter, flashing that easy, smooth smile that had won her over two years ago.
And then Shayla walked in.
Shayla had been D’Nisha’s closest friend since college, but over the last few months, a toxic vibe had settled over the trio. Shayla had grown distant, showing up unannounced, tossing around subtle, passive-aggressive comments, and making lingering eye contact with Anthony whenever D’Nisha turned her back. D’Nisha had tried to brush off her growing suspicion, telling herself she was just being paranoid. But Shayla hadn’t come tonight to eat; she had come to burn the house down.
Throughout the evening, Shayla barely touched her food. Instead, she sat across from D’Nisha, nursing a glass of wine and watching Anthony with a sharp, malicious smirk. Every time Anthony complimented D’Nisha, Shayla would drop a quiet, pointed remark.
"Oh, Anthony's always so thoughtful when he has an audience, isn't he?" Shayla purred, swirling her glass.
D’Nisha set her fork down, the quiet clatter echoing across the table. "If you've got something to say, Shayla, just say it. Stop playing these little mind games."
Anthony quickly stepped in, placing a reassuring hand on D’Nisha’s shoulder. "Babe, chill, it’s fine. Shayla’s just had a long week—"
"Don't 'babe' her, Anthony!" Shayla snapped, standing up so fast her chair screeched against the hardwood. The mask was completely off now. She looked directly at D’Nisha, her eyes gleaming with a mixture of jealousy and satisfaction. "You want to know why he’s been working late every Tuesday? You want to know why he magically had to 'go on a business trip' to Atlanta last month?"
Anthony’s face drained of all color. "Shayla, shut up. Leave now."
"No, Anthony, I don’t think I will," Shayla spat, turning back to D’Nisha. "He didn't go to Atlanta alone, D’Nisha. He paid for my ticket. He’s been in my apartment, in my bed, behind your back for the last six months."
The room went dead silent. D’Nisha felt the blood rush to her ears, a loud ringing swallowing every other sound. She looked at Anthony, waiting—hoping—for him to laugh it off, to call Shayla crazy. But Anthony couldn't even meet her eyes. His silence was the loudest confession imaginable.
Shayla took a step closer, crossing her arms, a triumphant grin spreading across her face. "He told me he was going to leave you. He said you were too clingy, too naive—"
CRACK.
Before Shayla could finish her sentence, D’Nisha snapped. She moved so fast the air moved with her. D’Nisha’s palm connected squarely with Shayla’s cheek, the sound bouncing off the walls like a gunshot.
The force of the slap sent Shayla stumbling back into the edge of the dining table, clutching her face in utter shock. Her grin instantly dissolved, replaced by wide, terrified eyes as her cheek flushed a deep, burning red.
"Get out," D’Nisha said, her voice terrifyingly calm, trembling only from the sheer adrenaline coursing through her veins.
Shayla, stunned into complete silence and tears welling in her eyes, grabbed her bag without another word and scrambled out the front door, slamming it behind her. D’Nisha turned around slowly to face Anthony, who was standing frozen against the kitchen island, knowing he was next
