You won’t believe it! Amber uncovered Dave and Wayne’s business secret
Amber Uncovers Dave and Wayne’s Business Secret
It was supposed to be an ordinary afternoon for Amber.
She had been busy all morning, handling her own responsibilities and trusting Dave to take care of an important business meeting. Dave had promised her that he and Wayne were meeting with a potential business partner to discuss a deal that could bring in a serious amount of money.
Amber believed him.
At least, she did until she received a message that completely changed everything.
Her phone buzzed while she was sitting at home.
UNKNOWN NUMBER: “You might want to check where Dave and Wayne really are.”
Amber stared at the message.
“What does that even mean?” she whispered.
Another message arrived almost immediately.
This time, there was a photo attached.
Amber opened it.
Her eyes widened.
Dave and Wayne were sitting at a table surrounded by drinks, laughing with several people. There was no business meeting. No paperwork. No potential investors.
They were partying.
Amber zoomed in on the photo, hoping there was some explanation she was missing.
Then she noticed the location.
It wasn't the office.
It was an upscale lounge across town.
Amber's expression changed instantly.
“You've got to be kidding me.”
She called Dave.
No answer.
She called again.
Still nothing.
Then she called Wayne.
Straight to voicemail.
Amber slowly put her phone down.
“So that's what we're doing now?”
Meanwhile, inside the lounge, Dave and Wayne had absolutely no idea what was coming.
Wayne laughed as he raised his glass.
“Man, Dave, we needed this! We've been working nonstop.”
Dave nodded.
“Exactly. Amber thinks we're handling business all day. We're just taking a little break.”
Wayne laughed.
“A little break?”
“Okay, okay,” Dave said. “Maybe a long break.”
The two men laughed.
But their laughter didn't last long.
Because Dave's phone suddenly started ringing.
He looked at the screen.
AMBER.
His smile disappeared.
Wayne immediately noticed.
“Don't answer.”
Dave stared at the phone.
“She probably wants to know how the meeting is going.”
Wayne shook his head.
“Then tell her it's going great.”
Dave rejected the call.
Seconds later, Amber called again.
He rejected it again.
Wayne sighed.
“She won't stop.”
Dave put the phone face down.
“She'll eventually get the message.”
But Amber wasn't the type to simply get the message.
She was already grabbing her keys.
“If they won't tell me where they are,” she said angrily, “I'll find out myself.”
Twenty minutes later, Amber arrived outside the lounge.
She sat in her car for a moment, staring at the entrance.
She could hear music coming from inside.
Her anger grew.
“This better have a good explanation.”
Amber walked through the doors.
A few seconds later, she spotted them.
Dave and Wayne were still sitting at the table.
Laughing.
Completely relaxed.
And definitely not working.
Amber stood there silently for several seconds.
Dave finally looked toward the entrance.
His face dropped.
Wayne followed his gaze.
“Oh no.”
Amber walked toward them.
Dave immediately stood up.
“Amber! What are you doing here?”
She folded her arms.
“What am I doing here?”
Dave swallowed.
“I thought you had a meeting.”
“I did.”
She looked directly at him.
“With who?”
Dave hesitated.
Wayne suddenly became very interested in his drink.
Amber shook her head.
“That's what I thought.”
Dave tried to explain.
“Amber, listen. It's not what you think.”
She laughed.
“Really? Because from where I'm standing, it looks exactly like what I think.”
Wayne finally spoke.
“Amber, we were going to handle the business.”
“When?”
Wayne paused.
“After this.”
Amber pointed at the table.
“You've been here for hours!”
Dave stepped closer.
“We needed to relax.”
“Relax?” Amber snapped. “You told me you were meeting a business partner!”
Dave looked uncomfortable.
“I didn't technically say—”
“Don't do that, Dave.”
Her voice became quieter.
And somehow, that made the room feel even more tense.
“You knew exactly what you were doing.”
Dave lowered his head.
Amber pulled out her phone and showed them the message and photo.
“Someone sent me this.”
Wayne's eyes widened.
“Who?”
“I don't know.”
Dave stared at the picture.
“Someone's watching us?”
Amber shook her head.
“No. Someone was tired of watching you two waste time.”
That sentence hit both men hard.
Then Amber noticed something else.
On the table was a folder.
She picked it up.
“What's this?”
Dave immediately reached for it.
“Nothing.”
Amber pulled it away.
“Nothing?”
She opened the folder.
Inside were several documents concerning the business deal Dave had promised to discuss that afternoon.
Amber looked at the paperwork.
Then she looked at Dave.
“You actually had everything you needed.”
Dave didn't respond.
“You could have gone to the meeting.”
Silence.
“You could have closed the deal.”
Still nothing.
“But instead, you came here.”
Wayne finally admitted it.
“We thought we had more time.”
Amber slowly closed the folder.
“That deal has a deadline tonight, doesn't it?”
Dave looked away.
Amber's eyes widened.
“You're telling me this deal could disappear because you two decided to party?”
Dave sighed.
“We were going to get it done.”
“When?”
Neither man answered.
Amber placed the folder on the table.
“Give me the documents.”
Dave looked confused.
“What?”
“Give me the documents.”
“Why?”
“Because if you two aren't serious about the business, somebody needs to be.”
Wayne stood up.
“Amber, wait.”
But she was already walking away.
Dave followed her.
“Where are you going?”
She turned around.
“To the office.”
“Why?”
“Because I'm going to make the call you should have made hours ago.”
Dave stared at her.
“You're not serious.”
Amber looked him directly in the eyes.
“I've never been more serious.”
Wayne exchanged a worried glance with Dave.
Amber walked out.
The two men followed.
Back at the office, Amber immediately opened the business files.
She began organizing the paperwork while Dave and Wayne stood behind her.
“This isn't your responsibility,” Dave said.
Amber didn't look up.
“No. It became my responsibility when you two decided to gamble with everybody's future.”
Wayne sighed.
“We messed up.”
Amber finally looked at him.
“Yes, you did.”
Dave sat down.
“I'll fix it.”
Amber nodded.
“You're going to help me fix it.”
Dave looked surprised.
“You're not leaving?”
Amber shook her head.
“No.”
She pushed a stack of documents toward him.
“I'm angry, Dave. Very angry. But I'm not going to watch a good opportunity disappear because of one stupid decision.”
For the next several hours, the three of them worked.
The mood was tense.
Nobody joked.
Nobody laughed.
They called the business partner.
At first, there was no answer.
Then finally, the phone rang.
Dave picked it up.
“Hello?”
Amber watched carefully.
Dave's expression changed.
The business partner had agreed to speak with them.
But there was one condition.
They had to explain why they had missed the original meeting.
Dave looked at Amber.
She nodded.
He took a breath.
“We made a mistake.”
Wayne leaned forward.
Dave continued.
“We weren't where we were supposed to be, and that's on us. But we're ready to make this right.”
There was a long silence.
Then the voice on the other end responded.
They would give them one final opportunity.
Dave's shoulders relaxed.
“Thank you. We won't waste it.”
After the call ended, Wayne leaned back.
“We actually got another chance.”
Amber crossed her arms.
“You got one chance.”
Dave smiled slightly.
“That's fair.”
But then Amber's phone buzzed again.
She looked at the screen.
Another unknown message.
This time, there was no photo.
Just one sentence:
“Amber, you still don't know the whole truth.”
Her smile disappeared.
She slowly looked up at Dave.
Dave noticed her expression.
“What is it?”
Amber locked her phone.
“Nothing.”
Wayne frowned.
“Amber…”
She stood up.
“I said nothing.”
But deep down, Amber knew something was wrong.
If someone had been watching Dave and Wayne, and if someone knew about their secret partying, then maybe there was more going on than she realized.
She looked at Dave one more time.
“You better tell me everything.”
Dave's face became serious.
“Everything about what?”
Amber stared at him.
“That's exactly what I'm trying to find out.”
The room fell silent.
And for the first time, Dave realized that the partying wasn't going to be the biggest
