The party was supposed to be a celebration.

Music was blasting, people were laughing, food was being served, and everyone seemed to be having a good time. Shayla walked into the room smiling, greeting everybody like nothing in the world could bother her.

But Anthony was standing across the room unusually quiet.

He wasn't dancing.

He wasn't joking.

He wasn't even talking to the people around him.

He kept looking toward Shayla.

And every time Shayla noticed him staring, Anthony quickly looked away.

At first, nobody thought much of it.

Then Wayne leaned toward Anthony and whispered,

“Bro… what's going on with you?”

Anthony shook his head.

“Nothing.”

Wayne wasn't convinced.

“You've been looking at Shayla all night. You good?”

Anthony took a deep breath.

“I've been trying to decide whether I should say something tonight.”

Wayne's eyes widened.

“Say what?”

Anthony looked around the room.

“Something Shayla doesn't want anybody to know.”

Wayne immediately became serious.

“Anthony, don't start no drama unless you're ready for what comes next.”

Anthony nodded.

“I know.”

Meanwhile, Shayla was enjoying herself.

She was laughing with the other guests, taking pictures, and acting completely relaxed.

She had no idea Anthony was preparing to reveal something that could change the entire atmosphere of the party.

Then the music suddenly stopped.

Everyone turned around.

Anthony had walked toward the center of the room.

“Everybody, can I get your attention for a second?”

The room became quiet.

Shayla's smile disappeared.

She knew immediately that something wasn't right.

“Anthony,” she said nervously, “what are you doing?”

Anthony looked directly at her.

“I think it's time we stop pretending.”

A few people gasped.

Wayne stepped back.

Amber looked confused.

Even the people who had been dancing seconds earlier were now watching Anthony.

Shayla walked closer.

“Pretending about what?”

Anthony reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone.

“I found out something a few days ago.”

Shayla's face changed.

Anthony continued.

“And I wanted to give you a chance to tell everybody yourself.”

Shayla immediately shook her head.

“I don't know what you're talking about.”

Anthony stared at her.

“Really?”

“Yes!”

Anthony unlocked his phone.

“You told me you had nothing to hide.”

“I don't!”

Anthony held up the phone.

“Then explain this.”

Everyone leaned forward.

Anthony showed a message on his screen.

The room erupted in whispers.

Shayla froze.

“Where did you get that?”

Anthony answered calmly,

“That doesn't matter. What matters is that you lied.”

Shayla looked around desperately.

“Anthony, please don't do this here.”

Anthony's voice became louder.

“You had plenty of opportunities to tell the truth.”

Shayla stepped toward him.

“You don't understand!”

“Then explain it!”

“I was protecting somebody!”

That sentence made everyone silent again.

Anthony stared at her.

“Protecting who?”

Shayla didn't answer.

Anthony shook his head.

“That's exactly what I thought.”

Wayne stepped between them.

“Hold on. Everybody calm down.”

But Anthony wasn't finished.

“There was another message.”

Shayla's eyes widened.

“Anthony, no.”

Anthony looked at her.

“Yes.”

He pulled up another message.

“This one proves you've been keeping a secret from everybody.”

Shayla suddenly became emotional.

“You promised me you wouldn't expose me!”

Anthony replied,

“And you promised me you would tell the truth.”

Nobody knew what to say.

Then Amber asked,

“What exactly has Shayla been hiding?”

Anthony looked around the room.

“That she knew about the situation long before any of us did.”

Shayla covered her face.

The secret was finally out.

But there was more.

Anthony revealed that Shayla had received information weeks earlier and deliberately kept it quiet because she was afraid of what would happen if everyone found out.

Wayne couldn't believe it.

“So you've known this whole time?”

Shayla nodded slowly.

“I didn't know what to do.”

Anthony responded,

“You could've told the truth.”

Shayla wiped away a tear.

“I was scared!”

“Scared of what?”

Shayla looked directly at Anthony.

“Scared that the truth would destroy everybody.”

That statement changed the mood completely.

Suddenly, Shayla wasn't acting angry anymore.

She was terrified.

Anthony lowered his phone.

“Then tell them the rest.”

Shayla looked around the room.

“I can't.”

Anthony replied,

“You have to.”

Shayla took a deep breath.

Then she finally said,

“Anthony wasn't supposed to find out about the second part.”

Everyone gasped.

Anthony's eyes widened.

“Second part?”

Shayla nodded.

“Yes.”

“What second part?”

Shayla looked at him.

“The person who gave me the information…”

She paused.

“…is someone you trust.”

The room went completely silent.

Anthony looked at Wayne.

Then Amber.

Then everyone standing around them.

“Who?”

Shayla opened her mouth.

But before she could say the name, the front door suddenly opened.

Everyone turned around.

A person walked into the party.

Anthony's face immediately changed.

Shayla looked terrified.

Wayne whispered,

“Oh no…”

The newcomer looked around the room and said,

“So I guess everybody knows now.”

Anthony stepped forward.

“You.”

The room erupted with shock.

Shayla immediately shouted,

“Anthony, wait!”

But it was too late.

Anthony had finally discovered who had been behind the secret.
