Lauren Reveals the Secret of the Lawyer’s Meeting About the Contract to Wayne!

The atmosphere inside Wayne's podcast studio had never felt so tense.

For days, Wayne had been hearing whispers about a secret meeting between the lawyers representing the podcast and the people behind Amber's controversial contract.

Nobody would tell him exactly what had happened.

Every time Wayne asked, he received the same answer:

"It's being handled."

But Wayne wasn't satisfied.

Something was clearly being kept from him.

And then Lauren walked into the studio carrying a folder that changed everything.

Lauren Had Been Keeping a Secret

Wayne was sitting alone in the conference room when Lauren quietly walked through the door.

"Wayne, we need to talk."

Wayne looked up.

"About what?"

Lauren placed the folder on the table.

"The lawyer's meeting."

Wayne immediately became serious.

"What lawyer's meeting?"

Lauren hesitated.

"The one nobody told you about."

Wayne stood up.

"Wait... what?"

Lauren took a deep breath.

"There was a meeting two nights ago."

"Who was there?"

"Amber's attorney. The podcast's attorney. Two representatives from the network... and Dave."

Wayne stared at her.

"Dave was there?"

Lauren nodded.

"Yes."

Wayne couldn't believe it.

"And nobody thought I should know?"

Lauren shook her head.

"That's why I'm here."

The Contract Wasn't What Wayne Thought

Wayne opened the folder.

Inside were copies of several pages from Amber's contract.

He immediately noticed something strange.

"This isn't the contract Amber signed."

Lauren nodded.

"Exactly."

Wayne looked at her in confusion.

"What do you mean?"

"The lawyers discovered that several clauses had been added to the latest version."

Wayne's eyes widened.

"Added by who?"

Lauren lowered her voice.

"That's the problem."

She pointed to a section near the bottom of the document.

"This clause gives the company control over Amber's appearances, interviews, outside collaborations, and even certain statements she makes publicly."

Wayne shook his head.

"Amber never agreed to that."

"According to her lawyer, she didn't."

Wayne sat down slowly.

"Then how did it get there?"

Lauren looked away.

"That's what the lawyers were trying to figure out."

Then Lauren Revealed the Biggest Secret

Wayne flipped through the pages.

"What else?"

Lauren hesitated.

"There was another condition."

Wayne looked up.

"What condition?"

Lauren took out another document.

"This one."

Wayne read it.

His expression immediately changed.

The clause stated that if Amber left the podcast under certain circumstances, the company could potentially claim damages and restrict her from immediately joining a competing media project.

Wayne slammed the document onto the table.

"They were trying to trap her."

Lauren nodded.

"That's what Amber's lawyer believes."

Wayne ran his hand through his hair.

"Why didn't anyone tell me?"

Lauren answered quietly.

"Because they were afraid you'd confront the company before the lawyers were ready."

Wayne stood up.

"Well, they were right."

Dave's Role Raises Questions

Wayne pointed at the folder.

"And Dave?"

Lauren sighed.

"Dave wasn't there to negotiate the podcast."

"Then why was he there?"

Lauren looked directly at Wayne.

"Because the lawyers were also discussing Amber's personal situation."

Wayne's expression hardened.

"That's not their business."

"That's what Amber's attorney said."

Wayne shook his head.

"So Dave was sitting in a room discussing Amber's future without Amber?"

Lauren nodded.

"Yes."

Wayne couldn't believe it.

"That's enough."

He reached for his phone.

Lauren grabbed his arm.

"Wayne, wait."

"Why?"

"Because there's more."

The Secret Proposal

Lauren opened another section of the folder.

"The lawyers discussed a possible settlement."

Wayne frowned.

"What kind?"

"If Amber agreed to leave the podcast quietly, the company would release her from certain obligations."

Wayne stared at her.

"So they wanted her gone?"

"That was one option."

"What was the other?"

Lauren paused.

"They wanted her to stay—but under completely different terms."

Wayne looked confused.

"Meaning?"

"She would have less creative control."

Wayne immediately shook his head.

"That's not Amber."

"I know."

Then Lauren Dropped the Bomb

Wayne walked toward the window.

"There's something you're still not telling me."

Lauren remained silent.

"Lauren."

She finally sighed.

"Okay."

She opened the final page.

"The lawyers discovered that someone had already prepared a termination notice."

Wayne turned around.

"For Amber?"

Lauren nodded.

"Yes."

"Before she even decided to leave?"

"Yes."

Wayne stared at the document.

"Who signed it?"

Lauren shook her head.

"That's the part we don't know."

Wayne looked at the signature.

His eyes widened.

"That's not Amber's signature."

"No."

"Then whose is it?"

Lauren looked nervous.

"We're not sure."

Wayne Confronts the Lawyer

The following morning, Wayne demanded a meeting with the podcast's attorney.

When the lawyer arrived, Wayne didn't waste time.

"I know about the secret meeting."

The lawyer remained calm.

"I assumed you eventually would."

"You discussed Amber's contract without me."

"We were protecting the legal process."

"You were hiding it from me."

The lawyer sighed.

"Wayne, there are confidential matters involved."

Wayne pointed at the folder.

"Someone prepared a termination notice using a signature that wasn't Amber's."

The lawyer became silent.

Wayne leaned forward.

"Who did it?"

"We're investigating."

"And Dave?"

"We're investigating his involvement as well."

Wayne stepped back.

"So this is bigger than a contract dispute."

The lawyer nodded.

"Much bigger."

Lauren Reveals One Final Detail

Later that evening, Lauren returned to the studio.

Wayne was still staring at the documents.

She quietly said,

"There's one more thing."

Wayne looked up.

"What now?"

Lauren placed her phone on the table.

"I received this message."

Wayne read it.

The message came from an unknown number:

"Tell Wayne to stop digging into the contract, or the next thing exposed won't be the paperwork."

Wayne's face went completely serious.

"Who sent this?"

"I don't know."

He looked at Lauren.

"Did you tell anyone?"

"No."

Wayne slowly picked up the phone.

"Then whoever sent this knew about the meeting."

Lauren nodded.

"And that's what scares me."

The two stood silently in the empty studio.

The contract dispute was no longer just about Amber's career.

Someone had secretly arranged a termination notice.

Someone had attended a private lawyer's meeting.

Someone knew what had been discussed.

And now someone was threatening Wayne.

Wayne looked at Lauren and said quietly:

"We're going to find out who did this."

But neither of them noticed the security camera in the hallway.

Its tiny red light was blinking.
