Dave thought he had finally put all the drama behind him.

After everything that had happened between Amber, Evelyn, Wayne, and the people around them, Dave was exhausted. He wanted peace. He wanted to focus on his business, stay away from arguments, and most importantly, keep certain conversations from reaching Amber.

But Dave was about to discover that one conversation he never expected to hear would completely change everything.

And the person holding the truth was Shayla.

IT ALL STARTED WITH A PRIVATE CONVERSATION

Shayla had been carrying something heavy for days.

She knew Amber deserved to know the truth, but she also knew that telling her could cause an explosion that nobody would be able to control.

Shayla finally decided she couldn't stay silent anymore.

She called Dave and asked him to meet her somewhere private.

When Dave arrived, he immediately noticed that Shayla wasn't smiling.

“What's going on?” Dave asked.

Shayla looked at him for several seconds before finally speaking.

“Dave, I need to tell you something about Amber.”

Dave's expression changed.

“What about Amber?”

Shayla took a deep breath.

“This isn't easy for me to say, but Amber has been believing one version of the story while something completely different has been happening behind the scenes.”

Dave immediately became suspicious.

“Are you saying somebody has been lying to her?”

Shayla nodded.

“I'm saying Amber doesn't know everything.”

Dave leaned forward.

“Then tell me everything.”

Shayla hesitated.

She knew that once she said the words, there would be no taking them back.

SHAYLA REVEALS THE TRUTH

Shayla finally told Dave that she had recently learned about conversations involving people close to Amber.

According to Shayla, certain information had been deliberately kept away from Amber because the people involved were afraid of how she would react.

Dave couldn't believe what he was hearing.

“Why would anybody hide this from her?”

Shayla looked at him.

“Because they knew Amber would ask questions.”

Dave stood up.

“So you're telling me Amber has been making decisions without knowing the whole truth?”

“Exactly.”

Dave shook his head.

“That isn't right.”

But Shayla wasn't finished.

She revealed that she had heard conversations that made her question whether everyone around Amber had been completely honest with her.

Dave's face became serious.

“Did Amber know about any of this?”

“No,” Shayla answered.

That one word changed the entire mood.

Dave realized Amber had been completely in the dark.

But then Shayla said something that made him even more uncomfortable.

“There is another part of this.”

Dave turned toward her.

“What?”

Shayla lowered her voice.

“Someone has been trying to make Amber believe that you were the reason behind certain problems.”

Dave froze.

“Me?”

“Yes.”

Dave couldn't believe it.

“So somebody has been using my name to cover their own mistakes?”

Shayla nodded.

Dave immediately wanted answers.

But before he could ask another question, Shayla's phone suddenly rang.

It was Amber.

Shayla looked at the screen.

Dave looked at her.

Neither of them said anything.

Finally, Shayla answered.

“Hey, Amber.”

Amber's voice sounded normal.

But she had no idea that Dave was standing right there.

AMBER STARTS ASKING QUESTIONS

Amber told Shayla she had been hearing strange things and wanted to talk.

Shayla tried to remain calm.

“What's going on?”

Amber explained that she had recently received information that didn't match what Dave had told her.

Shayla's eyes immediately moved toward Dave.

Dave knew exactly what was happening.

Amber was getting closer to the truth.

“Who told you that?” Shayla asked.

Amber paused.

“I can't say yet.”

Shayla's heart dropped.

Then Amber said something unexpected.

“But I have proof.”

Dave's eyes widened.

Shayla tried to keep her voice steady.

“What kind of proof?”

Amber responded:

“Messages. And I think somebody has been lying to me for a long time.”

Dave looked at Shayla.

Shayla looked back at him.

Neither of them knew what to say.

DAVE HEARS AMBER'S SIDE

After the call ended, Dave sat silently.

He finally said:

“She's already figured out something is wrong.”

Shayla nodded.

“But she doesn't know everything yet.”

Dave looked frustrated.

“Then she deserves to know.”

Shayla agreed.

“That's why I told you.”

Dave stood up.

“I need to talk to Amber.”

But Shayla warned him.

“Be careful, Dave. She's hurt. If you tell her something and she discovers you knew about it before she did, she may think you were part of the lie.”

Dave stopped.

That possibility scared him.

Because even though he hadn't created the situation, he now knew something Amber didn't.

And that made everything more complicated.

AMBER DISCOVERS DAVE HEARD THE TRUTH

Later that evening, Amber was going through her phone when she noticed something strange.

A message had been forwarded to her.

It contained part of a conversation between Shayla and another person.

Amber read it once.

Then twice.

Her eyes widened.

She immediately realized Shayla had been talking to Dave.

Amber's heart started racing.

“Dave knew?”

She couldn't believe it.

She kept reading.

The messages suggested that Dave had already heard Shayla's explanation before Amber ever knew what was happening.

Amber immediately called Dave.

He answered.

“Amber?”

“Dave, why didn't you tell me?”

Dave became silent.

“Tell you what?”

Amber's voice became emotional.

“Don't do that. You know exactly what I'm talking about.”

Dave knew there was no point pretending anymore.

“I was going to tell you.”

“When?”

Dave couldn't answer.

Amber continued.

“You heard Shayla's truth, and you still kept quiet?”

Dave tried to explain.

“I didn't know what was true yet. Shayla told me what she had heard, and I didn't want to come to you with something before I could verify it.”

Amber wasn't convinced.

“You should have told me immediately.”

Dave sighed.

“You're right.”

Amber's voice cracked.

“That is what hurts the most.”

THE CONFRONTATION

Amber finally agreed to meet Dave and Shayla together.

When she arrived, the atmosphere was tense.

Amber looked at Shayla.

“Tell me everything.”

Shayla nodded.

“I will.”

Dave remained quiet.

Shayla explained exactly what she had learned, what conversations she had heard, and why she believed Amber had been intentionally kept out of the loop.

Amber listened without interrupting.

But the more she heard, the more emotional she became.

“So all this time, people knew?”

Shayla answered carefully.

“Some people knew pieces of it.”

“And nobody thought I deserved to know?”

Nobody answered.

Amber looked at Dave.

“And you?”

Dave took a deep breath.

“I heard Shayla's side before you did.”

Amber's eyes filled with tears.

“But you didn't tell me.”

“I was trying to protect you.”

Amber shook her head.

“I don't need protection from the truth, Dave. I need honesty.”

That sentence hit Dave hard.

He knew she was right.

THEN AMBER DROPS THE BOMBSHELL

Just when Dave thought the confrontation couldn't get worse, Amber pulled out her phone.

“I have something too.”

She placed the phone on the table.

Dave looked at the screen.

It was a series of messages.

Amber explained that she had been investigating the situation herself.

“These messages prove somebody was trying to control the story before it reached me.”

Dave stared at the screen.

Shayla leaned closer.

Then both of them noticed something shocking.

One of the messages appeared to contradict what they had been told earlier.

Dave looked at Amber.

“Where did you get this?”

Amber replied:

“Someone sent it to me anonymously.”

Shayla immediately became suspicious.

“Who?”

Amber shook her head.

“I don't know.”

Dave stood up.

“This means there's another person involved.”

Amber nodded.

“And that's what scares me.”

THE MYSTERIOUS MESSAGE

Just as everyone was trying to figure out what was happening, Amber's phone buzzed again.

Another message.

This time, there was only one sentence:

“You still don't know the whole truth.”

Amber's face went pale.

Dave immediately asked:

“Who sent that?”

Amber looked at him.

“I don't know.”

Shayla suddenly realized something.

“If someone is sending you these messages, they want you to keep digging.”

Dave nodded.

“And they probably know more than all of us.”

Amber looked at both of them.

“Then I'm going to find out who.”

Dave tried to calm her down.

“Amber, don't rush into anything.”

But Amber had already made up her mind.

“No more secrets. No more half-truths. No more people deciding what I deserve to know.”

She stood up.

“If somebody thinks they can manipulate me, they're about to find out they picked the wrong person.”

THE BIGGEST SHOCK

The next morning, Amber received another message.

This time, there was an attachment.

She opened it.

Her expression immediately changed.

It was a recording of a conversation.

And the voices belonged to two people she knew.

Amber listened in complete silence.

When the recording ended, she immediately called Dave.

“Dave, you need to hear this.”

“What is it?”

“I found out who was behind everything.”

Dave's heart dropped.

“Who?”

Amber didn't answer immediately.

Instead, she said:

“And Dave… you were right about one thing.”

“What?”

“There is another person involved.”

Dave asked again:

“Who?”

Amber took a deep breath.

Then she whispered:

“You're not going to believe me.”

The call suddenly ended.

Dave stared at his phone in confusion.

Shayla asked:

“What happened?”

Dave looked at her.

“Amber found out who was behind the lies.”

Shayla's eyes widened.

“Who?”

Dave shook his head.

“She didn't tell me.”

And somewhere else, Amber was staring at the recording again, realizing that everything she thought she knew about the situation might have been completely wrong.

The truth Shayla revealed to Dave was only the beginning.
