D’Nisha Is Planning K’s Birthday Party… But When Shayla Arrives, She Asks, “Is He Bringing K With Him?”

D’Nisha had been working on K’s birthday party for days.

She wanted everything to be perfect.

The decorations were already ordered. The cake had been customized. The guest list was almost finished, and D’Nisha had even planned a special surprise that she believed would make K’s birthday unforgettable.

She still didn't know exactly who was going to bring K to the party.

D’Nisha had tried asking Anthony, but he kept giving vague answers.

“Don't worry about it,” he told her. “K will be there.”

She wanted to know who was bringing him, when they were arriving, and whether K had any idea that a party was being planned.

She didn't want the surprise ruined.

While D’Nisha was arranging the decorations, Shayla suddenly walked through the door.

“Okay, I need to know something,” Shayla said.

D’Nisha laughed.

“What?”

Shayla looked around at all the birthday decorations.

“You're really going all out!”

D’Nisha smiled proudly.

“It's K's birthday. Of course I am.”

Shayla looked at the cake and then back at D’Nisha.

Then she asked the question nobody expected.

“Is he bringing K with him?”

D’Nisha stopped moving.

“Wait… what?”

Shayla repeated herself.

“Is Anthony bringing K with him?”

D’Nisha looked confused.

“I thought he was.”

Shayla raised an eyebrow.

“You thought?”

D’Nisha suddenly became concerned.

“Yeah. Anthony told me K would be there.”

Shayla shook her head.

“That's not what I heard.”

The room became quiet.

D’Nisha immediately put down the decorations she was holding.

“What did you hear?”

Shayla explained that she had spoken with someone earlier who suggested there was confusion about K's birthday plans.

According to what Shayla had heard, Anthony hadn't completely confirmed that he was bringing K.

D’Nisha couldn't believe it.

“I've spent all this time planning this party!”

Shayla tried to calm her down.

“Maybe there's a reason.”

D’Nisha grabbed her phone and called Anthony.

He didn't answer.

She called again.

Still nothing.

D’Nisha became frustrated.

“Why isn't he answering?”

Shayla looked concerned.

“Maybe he's trying to keep the surprise.”

D’Nisha shook her head.

“No. Something feels wrong.”

Then her phone finally rang.

It was Anthony.

D’Nisha answered immediately.

“Where are you?”

Anthony laughed.

“Why?”

“Because I need to know if you're bringing K!”

There was a long pause.

D’Nisha looked at Shayla.

Anthony finally said:

“Of course I'm bringing him.”

D’Nisha sighed with relief.

“Then why didn't you tell me?”

“Because I didn't want you to worry about it.”

D’Nisha wasn't convinced.

“Anthony, I've been planning this entire party!”

“I know.”

“And I don't even know what time you're arriving!”

Anthony laughed.

“You'll know when we get there.”

D’Nisha rolled her eyes.

“That's not funny.”

But before Anthony could say anything else, the call suddenly ended.

D’Nisha stared at her phone.

Shayla immediately noticed her expression.

“What happened?”

“He hung up.”

Shayla laughed.

“Maybe he's planning something.”

D’Nisha wasn't laughing.

She knew Anthony well enough to recognize when he was hiding something.

And now she was beginning to wonder whether K's birthday party was going to be more complicated than she had expected.

Later that evening, D’Nisha continued preparing.

She checked the cake.

The next day arrived.
