For days, Dan had been furious with Wayne.
The tension between them had reached a point where every conversation turned into an argument. Dan believed Wayne had crossed a line, while Wayne insisted that he had done nothing wrong.

He called his own brother.
“Bro, I need you to come with me,” Dan said.

He opened it—and immediately froze.

Wayne looked at Dan's brother.
“What's going on?”
Dan stepped forward.
“We need to talk.”
Wayne crossed his arms.
“About what?”
Dan's brother stepped forward.
“About everything you've been hearing about Dan and Lauren.”
Wayne's expression changed.
“Lauren?”
Dan immediately interrupted.
“That's exactly why we're here.”
Wayne invited them inside, but the atmosphere was tense from the moment they entered.
Nobody sat down.
Dan stood across from Wayne.
“You've been telling people your side of the story,” Dan said. “But you've never heard mine.”
Wayne shook his head.
“I've heard enough.”
“No,” Dan replied. “You haven't.”
Dan's brother looked at Wayne.
“My brother didn't bring me here to start a fight. He brought me because I was there when some of this happened.”
Wayne became curious.
“What exactly did you see?”
Dan's brother took a deep breath.
“I saw conversations that Dan never told you about. I heard what was said. And I know there are things you don't understand.”
Wayne looked at Dan.
“Then tell me.”
Dan's brother explained that the situation involving Dan, Lauren, and Wayne had become complicated because everyone had been hearing different versions of the same story.
He admitted that Dan had made mistakes.
But he also insisted that Wayne didn't know the entire story.
Wayne became frustrated.
“So why didn't Dan tell me himself?”
Dan answered immediately.
“Because every time I tried, you wouldn't listen.”
Wayne shook his head.
“I would have listened if you had told me the truth.”
Dan's brother stepped between them.
“That's enough.”
Both men went silent.
He continued.
“You two keep blaming each other, but neither of you is asking the real question.”
Wayne looked confused.
“What question?”
Dan's brother pointed at both men.
“Who started all of this?”
The room became silent.
Dan looked away.
Wayne stared at him.
“What does that mean?”
Dan's brother reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone.
“I have something you both need to see.”
He opened a video.
Wayne watched silently.
The video showed a conversation that completely changed the situation.
Wayne's expression slowly changed from anger to shock.
“Where did you get this?”
Dan's brother replied, “I recorded it because I knew eventually the truth would matter.”
Dan looked at his brother.
“You actually kept that?”
“I knew this day would come.”
Wayne watched the video again.
Then he looked at Dan.
“Why didn't you show me this before?”
Dan lowered his head.
“Because I was afraid you wouldn't believe me.”
Wayne's anger began turning into confusion.
For the first time, he realized that perhaps he had been judging the situation without knowing everything.
But then Dan's brother revealed something even more shocking.
“There is another reason I brought this.”
Wayne looked at him.
“What?”
Dan's brother hesitated.
“Someone has been playing both of you.”
Dan immediately looked at his brother.
“What are you talking about?”
“I’m talking about someone who has been feeding information to both sides and making sure you two stay angry at each other.”
Wayne's eyes widened.
“Who?”
Dan's brother shook his head.
“I don't know yet.”
Wayne stepped closer.
“Then why bring this up?”
“Because I found a message that may tell us.”
He showed them another message on his phone.
The message suggested that someone had deliberately encouraged the conflict between Dan and Wayne.
Wayne stared at the screen.
“This can't be real.”
Dan replied, “That's what I've been trying to tell you.”
For the first time, the two men weren't arguing.
They were thinking.
Wayne finally looked at Dan.
“If what you're saying is true, then we've both been played.”
Dan nodded.
“Exactly.”
But just as things seemed to calm down, Wayne's phone suddenly rang.
He looked at the screen.
The caller was unknown.
He answered.
“Hello?”
Nobody spoke.
Then a distorted voice said:
“You should've stayed out of this.”
The call ended.
Everyone in the room froze.
Dan's brother looked at Wayne.
“They know we're together.”
Wayne immediately locked the door.
Dan looked nervous.
“What do we do now?”
Wayne looked at Dan.
“For once, we stop fighting each other.”
Dan nodded.
“Agreed.”
The three men began putting the pieces together.
But before they could figure out who was behind everything, another message appeared on Wayne's phone.
It contained one sentence:
“The truth about Lauren is only the beginning.”
Wayne stared at the message.
Dan's face went pale.
His brother slowly shook his head.
“This is much bigger than we thought.”
Wayne looked at Dan.
“What else don't I know?”
Dan didn't answer.
He simply looked toward the door.
Because deep down, Dan already knew the truth was about to come out—and once it did, none of them would ever look at each other the same way again.
