The neighborhood was peaceful until one shocking conversation turned everything upside down.

Isaiah had just finished work when his phone rang. It was Hope.

"Isaiah, can you meet us at the café? It's urgent."

Something in her voice made him uneasy.

A few minutes later, Isaiah arrived to find Hope and Faith sitting at a corner table. Neither of them smiled.

"What happened?" Isaiah asked.

Faith looked down before speaking.

"We didn't want to be the ones to tell you."

Hope took a deep breath.

"It's about Brooke."

Isaiah's heart immediately sank.

"What about her?"

Hope hesitated.

"We've heard she's been having an affair."

The words echoed in Isaiah's mind.

"No... that's impossible."

Faith nodded slowly.

"We wish it wasn't true, but several people have been talking about seeing her with another man. They say she meets him whenever you're working late."

Isaiah clenched his fists.

"Who is he?"

"We don't know his name," Hope admitted, "but everyone says Brooke isn't being honest with you anymore. Isaiah... she's not good enough for you."

Isaiah sat there in complete silence. Every happy memory with Brooke flashed through his mind—their first date, their dreams for the future, the promises they had made.

Finally, he stood up.

"I'm going to ask her myself."

Without another word, he rushed to his car and sped toward Brooke's house.

Meanwhile, Brooke was completely unaware of the rumors.

She was decorating her living room for Isaiah's birthday surprise. Balloons, wrapped gifts, and a homemade cake filled the room.

She smiled as she looked at the banner that read:

"Happy Birthday, Isaiah. I Love You."

Just then...

BANG!

The front door flew open.

Brooke jumped in surprise.

"Isaiah?!"

His face was filled with anger.

"Tell me the truth!"

Brooke looked confused.

"What truth?"

Isaiah walked closer.

"Who is the man you've been seeing behind my back?"

Brooke stared at him in disbelief.

"What are you talking about?"

"Don't lie to me!"

"I've never lied to you!"

"The whole town is talking!"

Brooke's smile disappeared.

"So... you believed strangers instead of me?"

Isaiah's breathing grew heavier.

"I need answers."

Brooke crossed her arms.

"Then ask me respectfully."

The argument quickly became emotional.

Isaiah accused Brooke of hiding things.

Brooke reminded him that she had always been faithful.

"You've been coming home late."

"I've been planning your birthday."

"You've been leaving the house."

"To buy decorations!"

"You've been getting mysterious phone calls."

"They're from the bakery and the party planner!"

Isaiah wasn't convinced.

At that moment, Brooke opened the bedroom door.

Inside were dozens of balloons, presents, and family photos covering the walls.

Isaiah froze.

"This..."

Brooke wiped tears from her eyes.

"I wanted your birthday to be unforgettable."

Isaiah looked around the room in complete shock.

Everything she had been hiding was for him.

Before he could apologize, the doorbell rang.

Standing outside were Brooke's sister, the bakery owner, and two close friends carrying food and gifts.

One of them laughed.

"We're a little early for the surprise party."

Isaiah lowered his head.

He suddenly realized how badly he had misunderstood everything.

Just as Isaiah was about to apologize, another car pulled into the driveway.

Hope and Faith stepped out.

They had come to check on him.

Instead, they walked into an awkward silence.

Brooke looked directly at them.

"So... this is what your rumors almost destroyed."

Hope's confidence disappeared.

Faith couldn't even make eye contact.

"We're sorry," Hope whispered.

"We truly believed what we heard."

Brooke shook her head.

"Believing gossip doesn't make it true."

Isaiah turned toward Hope and Faith.

"You should have encouraged me to talk to Brooke instead of convincing me she betrayed me."

The two women apologized repeatedly.

As everyone calmed down, Brooke's elderly neighbor suddenly knocked on the open door.

"I think you all need to see this."

She handed Brooke a tablet.

It showed footage from a nearby security camera.

The video revealed a woman secretly taking photos of Brooke meeting with coworkers at a restaurant. The footage also showed that she deliberately cropped everyone else out of the pictures, making it appear as though Brooke was having a private dinner with another man.

Everyone watched in stunned silence.

"But who would do something like this?" Isaiah asked.

Before anyone could answer, another clip appeared.

The mystery woman climbed into a black SUV, made a phone call, and said:

"They believed every word. Now Brooke and Isaiah will never trust each other again."

Brooke gasped.

"I know that voice..."

The room fell silent.

"It belongs to someone we all know."

Before Brooke could reveal the name, her phone buzzed with an anonymous message.

"Don't expose me... unless you're ready for the truth about what happened five years ago."

Isaiah looked at Brooke in confusion.

"What happened five years ago?"

Brooke slowly looked up, tears filling her eyes.

"There are things I've never told you..."

The room fell completely silent.

Was the affair rumor only a distraction?

What secret had been buried for five years?

And who was manipulating everyone from the shadows
