Plot twist! Brooke just gave Destiny the news of a lifetime. How do we even process this? 📈

The room felt smaller than it was—like the walls had leaned in just to hear what Brooke was about to say.

Destiny had been talking nonstop a second ago, pacing near the window, laughing about something that didn’t matter anymore. The late afternoon light stretched across the floor, catching in Brooke’s hair, but Brooke wasn’t listening. She was sitting still… too still. Her fingers trembled around something small, white, and impossible to ignore.

“Brooke?” Destiny finally stopped mid-sentence. “Why are you so quiet?”

No answer.

Just a breath.

A shaky one.

And then Brooke slowly lifted her hand.

Destiny frowned, stepping closer. “What is that?”

Brooke didn’t say it right away. She couldn’t. The words felt too heavy, like they might break her if she let them out too fast. Her eyes glistened, lips pressed tight, like she was holding back a storm.

“Brooke… you’re scaring me.”

Another breath.

Then, barely above a whisper: “I didn’t know who else to tell first.”

Destiny’s eyes dropped to the object in Brooke’s hand.

Two lines.

Clear. Unmistakable.

For a second, nothing happened.

No reaction. No sound.

Just silence—thick, suffocating silence.

“…No way,” Destiny finally muttered, her voice hollow.

Brooke nodded once, and that was all it took.

Destiny stepped back like the truth had physically hit her. “Wait—wait, no. Brooke… no, this has to be wrong. Those things can be wrong, right? Did you take more than one? Tell me you took more than one.”

“I took three.”

That hit harder.

Destiny ran a hand through her hair, turning away, then back again, pacing now like she was trying to outrun the moment. “Okay. Okay… okay…” she kept repeating, but there was no calm in it—just panic disguised as logic.

“How?” she blurted out, then immediately shook her head. “No—stupid question. I just—Brooke, this is—this is huge.”

“I know,” Brooke whispered, her voice cracking now. “You think I don’t know that?”

Destiny stopped pacing. She looked at Brooke properly this time—not just at the test, not just at the situation—but at her. At the fear in her eyes. At the way her shoulders were curling inward like she was trying to disappear.

“You’ve been carrying this alone?” Destiny asked softly.

Brooke nodded again, tears finally slipping free. “For two days.”

“Two days?” Destiny’s voice jumped. “Brooke, that’s not ‘alone,’ that’s torture.”

“I didn’t know what to do!” Brooke snapped suddenly, emotion spilling over. “I still don’t know what to do!”

The words echoed, raw and real.

Destiny froze again, but this time… not from shock.

From understanding.

She walked over slowly and sat beside Brooke. Close—but not too close at first. Like she was giving her space to breathe.

“Okay,” Destiny said quietly, grounding her voice. “Then we figure it out.”

Brooke let out a small, broken laugh. “Figure it out? Destiny, my life just—just flipped upside down in one second. There is no ‘figuring it out.’”

“There is,” Destiny insisted gently. “It’s just messy.”

Brooke wiped her tears, shaking her head. “Everything was supposed to be normal. I had plans. I knew where I was going. And now…” She looked down at the test again. “…now I don’t even recognize my own future.”

Destiny followed her gaze. That tiny piece of plastic suddenly felt like it held the weight of everything—fear, consequences, choices, change.

“Have you told him?” Destiny asked carefully.

Brooke shook her head immediately. “No. I can’t. Not yet. I don’t even know what I’d say.”

“Then don’t rush it.”

“I feel like I’m already out of time,” Brooke whispered.

“You’re not,” Destiny said firmly. “You’re overwhelmed. That’s different.”

Brooke looked at her, searching her face like she needed proof of that.

“I’m serious,” Destiny continued. “Right now, you don’t need all the answers. You just need one thing.”

“What?”

“Someone who’s not going anywhere.”

Brooke’s expression cracked completely at that.

“You have me,” Destiny added, softer now. “No matter what happens next. No matter what you decide. I’m here.”

For the first time since she walked into that room, Brooke exhaled fully—like she’d been holding her breath the entire time.

And just like that, the moment shifted.

It wasn’t just about the shock anymore.

It was about what came after.

Two girls. One life-changing truth. And a future that suddenly looked nothing like they imagined—but one they would now have to face, step by step, together.

Because some news doesn’t just change your life…

…it rewrites it completely
