😳 Greg Meets Larry and Asks About the Miami Trip with Bethany — Larry Is Shocked, He Never Went

It was a normal afternoon when
Larry
walked into a small café downtown. He wasn’t there to relax. He wasn’t there for coffee. He was there to meet
Greg.

Greg had called him earlier and said:

“We need to talk about Miami… and Bethany.”

Larry had been confused ever since that phone call.

Miami? Bethany? What is Greg talking about?
he kept thinking.

He walked inside, saw Greg sitting at a table, and immediately noticed Greg looked serious.

Very serious.

Larry sat down across from him.

“What’s going on?” Larry asked.
“You sounded serious on the phone.”

Greg leaned forward slightly and said:

“I’m just going to ask you directly.
Why did you go to Miami with Bethany and not tell anyone?”

Larry blinked.

He didn’t speak for a few seconds.

Then he said slowly:

“What are you talking about?”

The Confusion Begins

Greg frowned.

“Don’t do that,” Greg said.
“I already know about the Miami trip. I just want to know why you kept it secret.”

Larry shook his head.

“Greg, I think you’re confused. I never went to Miami with Bethany,” he said.

Now Greg was the one confused.

“What do you mean you never went? I saw pictures,” Greg said.

Larry leaned back in his chair.

“Pictures of what?” he asked.

“You and Bethany in Miami. Hotel, beach, restaurant. I thought that’s why all the family drama started,” Greg said.

Larry’s face changed immediately.

“I have never been to Miami with Bethany,” he said slowly.

Now both of them were silent.

Because now something didn’t make sense.

Greg Explains What He Saw

Greg pulled out his phone.

“A few weeks ago, I was at a party. Someone showed me pictures on their phone. They said you and Bethany went to Miami together and didn’t tell anyone because you were trying to fix your marriage privately,” Greg explained.

Larry shook his head immediately.

“No. That never happened. I swear I never went to Miami with Bethany,” Larry said.

Greg looked at him carefully.

“You’re serious?” Greg asked.

“Yes. I’m serious. I have never taken a Miami trip with Bethany,” Larry replied.

Greg leaned back in his chair, now looking more confused than before.

“Then who was in those pictures?” Greg asked quietly.

Larry didn’t answer immediately.

Because now he was thinking very hard.

Larry Starts Thinking

Larry started remembering all the arguments, all the accusations, all the fights about Miami.

Bethany kept saying:
“You lied about Miami.”
“You were in Miami.”
“I know the truth about Miami.”

But Larry always thought she meant he went without her.

He never imagined someone thought he went with her.

“This doesn’t make any sense,” Larry said quietly.

Greg nodded.

“Yeah, that’s why I called you. Because everyone is talking about this Miami trip like it really happened,” Greg said.

Larry leaned forward.

“Who showed you the pictures?” he asked.

Greg hesitated.

“I think it was Brooke’s phone,” he said.

Larry’s eyes widened slightly.

Brooke

“Brooke?” Larry repeated.

Greg nodded.

“Yes. She said something like, ‘See? They were in Miami together and still pretending they’re fighting.’ I thought everyone knew.”

Larry didn’t say anything for a long time.

Because now this whole situation was getting stranger and stranger.

The Realization

Larry finally spoke:

“Greg… Bethany thinks I went to Miami without her,” he said.
“And now you’re telling me people think I went to Miami with her.”

Greg nodded slowly.

“Yeah… that’s what people are saying,” Greg replied.

Larry rubbed his forehead.

“This is crazy. I never went to Miami with Bethany. Not once,” Larry said.

Greg looked at him carefully.

“Then you better find out who was in those pictures,” Greg said.
“Because those pictures are the reason half your family thinks you’ve been lying.”

Larry looked down at the table and said quietly:

“What if this whole situation started because of something that isn’t even true?”

Greg didn’t answer.

Because that possibility was worse than everything else.

The Bigger Problem

After a long silence, Greg said:

“You know what the worst part is?”
“If those pictures are wrong, then people have been blaming you for something you didn’t even do. And Bethany might have been fighting you over something that never happened.”

Larry looked out the window and said quietly:

“If that’s true… then all these arguments, the lawyers, the police, the divorce talk… everything started from a lie.”

Greg nodded slowly.

“Then you need to talk to Bethany,” Greg said.
“Because if you never went to Miami with her, and she thinks you did something there… then someone is lying to both of you.”

Larry stood up from the table slowly.

He grabbed his keys and said:

“I think I’m about to find out that this whole story is much bigger than I thought.”

He started walking toward the door.

Greg called after him:

“Where are you going?”

Larry stopped, turned around, and said:

“To find out who really went to Miami… and why everyone thinks it was me.” 😳
