Iman Races Her to the Hospital — But Is This Actually GOOD News?! 😱
The morning started like any other. Iman was halfway through her first cup of coffee when her phone buzzed—once, then again, and again. It was Lina, her best friend since childhood. The messages came in quick bursts:
“Something’s wrong.”
“I can’t breathe.”
“Please hurry.”
Iman didn’t even finish reading. She grabbed her keys, didn’t bother with shoes, and bolted out the door. The November air bit at her skin as she jumped into her car.
“Hold on, Lina. I’m coming,” she muttered, her hands trembling as she started the engine.
The Race Against Time
Traffic was brutal. Every red light felt like an eternity. Her heart pounded faster with each passing second. She called Lina’s phone—no answer. She called again. Still nothing.
Finally, Lina picked up, her voice barely audible.
“I-I think it’s the baby,” she whispered.
Iman nearly swerved off the road.
“The baby?! Lina, you’re—wait, you’re pregnant?”
But before she could ask anything else, Lina groaned in pain and dropped the call.
That was all Iman needed to hear. She floored the gas pedal and prayed she wouldn’t see flashing lights in her rearview mirror.
The Hospital Chaos
By the time Iman reached Lina’s apartment, she found her curled up on the floor, pale and sweating. There was blood on the tiles.
“Lina! Oh my God!” Iman knelt beside her, lifting her gently. “You’re going to be okay. Just hang on.”
With adrenaline pumping through her veins, Iman carried her to the car and sped off toward the hospital. She honked, shouted out the window, begged other cars to move.
Inside the emergency entrance, nurses rushed forward, wheeling Lina away. Iman was left standing alone in the hallway, her heart racing, hands covered in her friend’s blood.
The Waiting
An hour passed. Then two. Every minute dragged like an eternity. The sterile smell of disinfectant filled her nose. The ticking clock on the wall became unbearable.
Finally, a doctor appeared. Iman jumped to her feet.
“Is she okay? Please tell me she’s okay.”
The doctor smiled—a small, tired smile.
“She’s going to be fine. But… there’s something you should know.”
Iman’s stomach dropped. “What do you mean?”
The doctor gestured for her to follow.
The Shocking Truth
When Iman entered the room, Lina was sitting up in bed—pale but smiling. In her arms was a tiny baby girl, wrapped in a pink blanket.
“Meet Mira,” Lina whispered. “She decided to come early.”
Iman gasped. “You were pregnant this whole time?! Why didn’t you tell me?”
Lina laughed softly. “I was going to surprise you next week at my birthday dinner. I wanted to make it special.”
Iman felt tears blur her vision. “You nearly gave me a heart attack!”
They both laughed and cried at the same time. Mira let out a tiny cry, and both women looked down at her—so small, yet so full of life.
But Wait… There’s More
Just as Iman was about to relax, the doctor cleared his throat.
“There’s another surprise.”
Lina frowned. “Another?”
The nurse entered, holding a second bundle—another baby.
“Twins,” the doctor said with a grin. “You’ve got two perfectly healthy girls.”
Iman’s jaw dropped.
“Okay, now that’s the good news I was not expecting.”
Lina burst into tears, laughing and crying all at once. Iman joined her, overwhelmed with joy and relief.
The Aftermath
Later that night, after everything had calmed down, Iman stood by the hospital window watching the city lights flicker. She thought about how close she’d come to losing her best friend—and how sometimes, the scariest moments in life lead to the most beautiful ones.
Lina slept peacefully nearby, with both babies curled up beside her.
Iman whispered to herself,
“Today started as the worst day ever… but maybe, just maybe, it turned out to be the best.”
