AW...Shayla’s Shock 😱 Kai’s Room, Kai’s Rules 🏠
Kai’s Room, Kai’s Rules 👑🏠
1️⃣ Yum, Yum Moments 🍎
“Yum, yum, yum. It’s open!” Kai’s little voice filled the kitchen as he tore open his favorite snack pack. His laughter was contagious — the kind that could light up any room.
Anthony smiled, leaning against the counter. “What’s up, big man? You having a good day?”
Kai nodded, still munching. Shayla grinned. “He ate all of those already. That’s his favorite.”
Anthony chuckled. “You should really start giving him more organic fruit — not that store-bought stuff. You know they put certain things in there.”
Shayla froze, turning toward him. “Excuse me? This is organic. Why do you always have so much to say? I run things here.”
Anthony shot back calmly, “This is my house.”
2️⃣ The Furniture Talk Begins 🏡
There was a brief silence. Only Kai’s innocent hums filled the space.
Anthony broke it first. “Speaking of house… I thought about what you said the other day — about the furniture for your new place.”
Shayla folded her arms. “Okay…?”
“I’m gonna get you some furniture,” Anthony said confidently.
She raised an eyebrow. “Honestly, that’s the least you could do. I had to find a way to get my own house, so furnishing it shouldn’t even be a debate.”
3️⃣ Petty or Parental? 😬
Anthony’s tone shifted — calm but firm. “I’m sorry, what? I said I’ll take care of the furniture for Kai’s room.”
Shayla blinked. “Wow. You are so petty! Why would I expect anything else from you?”
“I’m not petty,” Anthony replied. “This is about my son. You were talking about where he’s gonna lay his head — so I’m handling Kai’s room.”
Her lips tightened. “You know what, Anthony? Don’t even worry about it. I’ll take care of everything.”
4️⃣ The Clash Over Control ⚡
Anthony tried to reason. “I’m saying, you don’t have to—”
“No!” she snapped. “I will take care of it. You don’t have to be petty and only do Kai’s room. Are you serious?”
Anthony sighed deeply. “I’m not being petty. I’m just taking care of Kai’s stuff. He needs a bed. He needs his own space. That’s one less thing for you to worry about.”
“Wow,” Shayla repeated, shaking her head. “But don’t worry about it at all. I’m good.”
5️⃣ Shayla’s Stand 🙅♀️
Her voice softened, but her words hit hard. “See, I’m in a new space in my life. And I know you hate to see it, but I don’t need you. You’re not used to hearing that, are you, Anthony Dalton?”
He said nothing — just looked at her, expression unreadable.
“I don’t need you for anything,” she continued. “You know what? Iman can furnish the house. I’m sure he’d be happy to. Iman does anything I ask — and he does it without all this back and forth.”
Anthony’s jaw clenched. “You don’t run me. You don’t control me.”
6️⃣ Kai Breaks the Tension 👦💞
Before Shayla could reply, little Kai came running, bumping right into Anthony’s leg. “Come here, buddy,” Anthony said softly, kneeling down to him.
Kai giggled and hugged his dad.
Shayla crossed her arms, watching quietly — her anger melting into something unspoken. There was still love there, buried deep under pride and pain.
“Why are you in my room?” Kai asked, tilting his head.
Anthony smiled faintly. “Because you ran into me,” he whispered.
The room went still again — just the hum of the fridge and faint music playing from Shayla’s phone.
7️⃣ Kai’s Room, Kai’s Rules 🏠👑
The tension lingered, but so did the truth: this wasn’t about furniture anymore. It was about control, respect, and learning to let go.
Because at the end of the day, it really was Kai’s room — and Kai’s rules.
