When Anthony Surprise Shayla to get a New House 😱

[Scene: A sunny afternoon. Anthony drives Shayla to an unknown location with her eyes covered by a scarf.]

Shayla: (laughing nervously) Anthony, where are we going? You’ve had me blindfolded for twenty minutes!

Anthony: (grinning) Relax, baby. Just trust me. We’re almost there.

Shayla: “Trust me” is what people say right before they pull pranks. If you’re about to show me a new puppy or something, you better know I’m already naming it.

Anthony: (laughs) Nope. Bigger than a puppy. Way bigger.

Shayla: Bigger? What’s bigger than a puppy? Don’t tell me it’s a car. Anthony, if you bought a car without me—

Anthony: (interrupting) You talk too much! Okay, okay... we’re here. Don’t move.

Shayla: (smiling) You sound suspicious, Anthony.

Anthony: (takes off her blindfold) Okay… open your eyes.

Shayla: (blinks, looks around) Wait… what is this? Whose house is this?

Anthony: (grinning wide) Ours.

Shayla: (pauses, confused) …What do you mean “ours”? Like… we’re visiting someone’s house?

Anthony: (hands her a key) Nope. This house. It’s ours, Shayla. I bought it.

Shayla: (freezes, staring at him) …You— you what?

Anthony: I bought us a house. For real. No joke.

Shayla: (hands shaking) Anthony, stop playing. You didn’t— you didn’t buy a whole house.

Anthony: (smiling) Go ahead. Check the sign. It says “SOLD.”

[She looks at the yard sign — it really says “SOLD.” Her jaw drops.]

Shayla: Oh my God… Anthony! You— You really did this?!

Anthony: (nods proudly) Yep. I’ve been saving, planning, working overtime for months. You deserve this, Shay. We deserve this.

Shayla: (tears welling up) Anthony… I don’t even know what to say. You did this all by yourself?

Anthony: Well, technically, I had some help from the bank. (laughs) But yeah… I wanted to surprise you.

Shayla: (hits him playfully on the arm) You’re crazy! You didn’t even give me a hint!

Anthony: If I told you, you would’ve ruined the surprise with fifty questions and a spreadsheet.

Shayla: (laughing through tears) You’re not wrong.

Anthony: Come on, let’s go inside. I wanna show you something.

[They walk into the house. Shayla’s eyes are wide, taking in everything — the bright kitchen, the cozy living room.]

Shayla: It’s beautiful… oh my God, this kitchen! I’ve dreamed of this!

Anthony: I know. You pinned it on your Pinterest board like… fifty times.

Shayla: (gasps) You looked at my Pinterest?!

Anthony: Of course! I needed inspiration. I wanted it to feel like you.

Shayla: (tears streaming now) Anthony, this is the sweetest thing anyone’s ever done for me.

Anthony: (holds her close) You’ve been my rock through everything. You believed in me when I didn’t even believe in myself. This house… it’s just a small way to say thank you.

Shayla: (sniffling) Small way?! This is a house, Anthony!

Anthony: (chuckles) Okay, maybe not so small.

Shayla: (laughs and hugs him tight) I can’t believe this. I’m so proud of you. Of us.

Anthony: (softly) Welcome home, Shayla.

Shayla: (smiling through tears) Our home.

[They stand in the middle of their new living room, holding each other as the sunlight pours through the windows.]

Shayla: Wait… where are we? This area looks expensive. Like… “we-can’t-even-afford-the-mailbox” expensive.

Anthony: (smiling quietly) Just wait.

Shayla: Anthony… what did you do?

Anthony: You’ll see.

Shayla: If you rented one of these houses for a night just to prank me, I swear—

Anthony: (turns off the engine) We’re here.

Shayla: (frowning) “Here” where?

Anthony: (gets out, walks around to her side) Come on.

[He opens her door, takes her hand. She steps out, nervous. He leads her up a walkway to a big modern-style house. The “For Sale” sign in the yard says “SOLD.”]

Shayla: (reading it slowly) “Sold”… okay… so someone bought it. So what?

Anthony: (smiling faintly) Yeah. Someone did.

Shayla: (eyes narrowing) …Anthony. What are you saying?

Anthony: (hands her an envelope) Open it.

Shayla: (hesitant) What is this?

Anthony: Just open it.

[She opens the envelope. Inside: keys, and a document with her name and his on it. Her hands start trembling.]

Shayla: (quietly) Anthony… this… this isn’t— this can’t be real.

Anthony: (softly) It’s real.

Shayla: (voice shaking) You bought this house?!

Anthony: We bought it. Together.

Shayla: (tears in her eyes) No… no, no, no… you didn’t even tell me you were looking!

Anthony: (smiling) I wanted to surprise you. You’ve been talking about “someday” for years. I figured… why not make “someday” today?

Shayla: (covering her mouth, overwhelmed) Anthony… how long have you been planning this?

Anthony: Since last winter. Every time you said, “One day I just want a place that feels like ours,” I started saving, working double shifts, talking to lenders… it took months.

Shayla: (crying) You did all that… for me?

Anthony: (holds her shoulders) For us. You believed in me when I was broke and lost. I wanted to give you something solid. Something permanent.

[She looks at the house, tears streaming down. The sky turns pink as the sun dips lower.]

Shayla: (whispers) It’s beautiful…

Anthony: (smiles) Wait till you see the inside.

[He unlocks the door. They step inside — it’s completely decorated: candles, flowers, photos of them already framed on the walls.]

Shayla: (gasping) Anthony! You— how did you—

Anthony: (grinning) I had some help. Your sister helped me decorate. She kept it quiet for months.

Shayla: (laughs through tears) I can’t believe she didn’t tell me!

Anthony: (puts his arm around her) Welcome home, Shay.

Shayla: (whispers) This doesn’t feel real.

Anthony: (kisses her forehead) It’s real. Every wall, every corner. It’s ours.

Shayla: (smiles) Anthony… you’re impossible.

Anthony: (smirks) Maybe. But now, we’ve got the keys to our future.

[They stand in the middle of the living room, silent — just holding each other, surrounded by the echo of their laughter and the promise of something new.]
