A,,😰Shayla gets that mysterious call — and learns a secret about Amber’s pregnancy😱

It was past midnight. The wind outside whispered against Shayla’s window, but she couldn’t sleep. Something had been bothering her all week — Amber’s sudden change in attitude, Anthony’s silence, and the way both of them avoided eye contact whenever she walked into the room.

Her phone buzzed suddenly, the screen lighting up with an unknown number.

She frowned. “Who’s calling at this hour?” she murmured, picking it up.

“Hello?”

A pause. Then a woman’s trembling voice.
“Is this… Shayla?”

“Yes. Who is this?”

The woman took a deep breath. “I don’t have much time. But you need to know — the pregnancy Amber keeps talking about… it’s not what she’s saying it is.”

Shayla sat up instantly, her heartbeat quickening. “What do you mean? What are you trying to say?”

The caller hesitated. “Amber’s baby… isn’t Anthony’s.”

Shayla felt her stomach drop. “What? How do you know that?”

The voice grew softer. “Because I saw her that night — with someone else. She was meeting a man behind the old café on West Avenue. He’s the real father. I can’t say more. Just… be careful who you trust.”

The line went dead.

Shayla stared at her phone, her hands shaking. For a few seconds, she thought it might be a prank. But deep inside, something told her it was true.

The next morning, Shayla went straight to Anthony’s apartment. He looked surprised to see her.

“Shayla? It’s 7 a.m., what’s wrong?”

She threw her phone on the table. “You tell me. Who’s the father of Amber’s baby?”

Anthony blinked. “What are you talking about?”

“Don’t act innocent!” Shayla snapped. “Someone called me last night — said the baby isn’t yours.”

Anthony’s jaw tightened. “You shouldn’t believe every rumor you hear.”

“Then prove it!” Shayla shouted. “Show me the DNA test!”

Before Anthony could answer, the door creaked open. Amber walked in, her face pale, her hands gripping an envelope.

“Looking for this?” she said bitterly. “The DNA test results.”

Shayla glared at her. “Then open it.”

Amber’s hands trembled as she tore open the envelope. The silence in the room was so heavy, you could hear the paper rip.

Her eyes scanned the page. Her lips parted. And then — she froze.

Anthony stepped closer. “What does it say?”

Amber’s voice was barely a whisper. “It says… the baby isn’t yours.”

Anthony’s face turned white. Shayla gasped. “So the caller was right…”

Amber burst into tears. “It wasn’t supposed to happen like this. I made a mistake — a terrible one.”

Shayla shook her head in disbelief. “You lied to everyone, Amber. You made Anthony believe he was going to be a father. You made me believe you’d changed.”

Amber fell to her knees, sobbing. “I didn’t mean to hurt anyone. It just… happened.”

Anthony turned away, his voice cold. “You’ve destroyed everything, Amber. There’s no coming back from this.”

Shayla looked at him, her voice soft but steady. “Now you know the truth. But the question is… what are you going to do about it?”

Anthony looked out the window — the morning sun rising through the clouds — his future suddenly uncertain.
